Day 112 | Thursday, 9 July 2020
Well, since this has been a treatment week for me and I have run out of steam so to speak, I have a few more versions of Psalm 23 for you. Psalm 23 – New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff—they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long. Psalm 23 – New International Version (NIV) The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23 – The Living Bible (TLB) Because the LORD is my Shepherd, I have everything I need! He lets me rest in the meadow grass and leads me beside the quiet streams. He restores my failing health. He helps me do what honors him the most. Even when walking through the dark valley of death I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me, guarding, guiding all the way. You provide delicious food for me in the presence of my enemies. You have welcomed me as your guest, blessings overflow! Your goodness and unfailing kindness shall be with me all of my life, and afterwards I will live with you forever in your home. Loving God, as we continue the journey through this week, we need our shepherd to restore our souls. Yes, we are struggling COVID quarantine. We need rest from the news of the growing numbers in several states of those testing positive. We pray for the younger population who are now becoming ill. Lord, we need our Shepherd to guard and guide us on our way. Lord, Hear our prayers. Amen. As of 7/7/2020 at 4PM there were 150 cases in the county with 45 in our battalion. Notice the increase in our battalion. Today: rest for the weary, in cool quiet places. Prayers for Wendy Howig.
