Exercise #1 – standing pushups (wall or counter) do 10 Exercise #2 – wall upper body stretch- you are already at the wall doing your pushups. Stand slightly farther than arm’s length from a wall, feet shoulder-width apart. Lean forward and put your palms flat against the wall at shoulder height and shoulder-width apart. Keeping your back straight, slowly walk your hands up the wall until your arms are above your head. Hold your arms overhead for 10 – 30 seconds. Slowly walk your hands back down and then relax. Repeat the stretch three to five times. Alternate between the pushups and stretch and do three reps of each. An Affirmation of Faith “We believe in God, who promises to be with us always, in all our seasons of life. We believe God wants to fill us with power so we may be witnesses to all the ends of the earth. We believe in the risen Christ, who shows that God's love is stronger than our fears, more enduring than our worries and deeper that our despair. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the hidden power of God, working for good, bringing hope, encouraging justice, building peace, promoting healing, creating joy. We believe God is at work in us and in this community of prayers and doers.” Prayer “O God of wisdom and understanding, in mystery and silence you are present. You are always bringing new life out of destruction, hope out of despair, growth out of difficulty. We thank you that you do not leave us alone, but labor to make us whole. Help us today to perceive your unseen hand in the unfolding of our lives and to attend to the gentle guidance of your Spirit, that we may experience and feel the joy you give your people. We realize that wisdom is more than gaining knowledge and understanding more than listening. Enable us to let go of heavy expectancies and shriveling anxieties. We come with praise and thanksgiving as we welcome this new day and trust that what we experience today will truly enable us to see you more clearly, love you more dearly and follow you more nearly. In the Savior's name. Amen.” Thought: Christianity is a revealed religion, with a historical tradition. Without a community of faith surrounding us, retelling the stories and traditions again and again, we cannot know Jesus.
